Summer, reflections, motorbikes but nothing everlasting?

A picture collection from the motorcycle trip in the Turku archipelago, Finland.
Aug 2001.

The morning in the island of Norrskata. The air is stricken with purity.

The Moving Road. The ferry viewed through yellow sun glasses radiates some heat and makes the feeling infernially warm. Especially when wearing those thick core-tex driving suits. The people appear uncharacteristically harmless in their background role.

Two ferries with the motorbikes sailing on the sea. The travellers are caught, fixed in a care-free equilibrium.

An amazing stillness of the restless sea water. If the everything stopped, would the water freeze in the winter?

The Quests of the Night. We are involved in a vision whose source is beyond us, and whose effect is difficult to embrance. After all the scene from the shade is available. The log is hidden in the darkness, but the inviting light asks the visitor.

Powerful accomodation of stillness. Ile reads his leaflets in the restricted light leaving the surrounding happenings in their own.

Momentary arrangement of three figures. Encouraged by the camera eye, the view here is focused and under a control.

A strong impression is that they are not going far. Pade's task to warn the under water rocks and to pilot the boat in its harbour. The mission is distributed perhaps by the bright light. He looks up and stares into the space between him and the next island.

Sun in the bard carage. A space is furnished with two well rest bikes and drivers. The sea behind seems to be trying to get in. Meanwhile two figures find their comfort as hiding in the shadow.

One day, a philosopher was trying to kick-start his motorcycle. An artist approached him and asked, "Sir, the nature of the road is omnipresent, and there is no destination it does not reach. Why then, must you fuss with this infernal machine?"

The philosopher replied, "Although you understand that the road is omnipresent, you do not understand the meaning of its reaching all destinations."

"What is the meaning of its reaching all destinations?" asked the artist.

At that moment,
the motorcycle roared to life as the philosopher gave her one more kick.
He took off down the road and disappeared beyond the horizon.

How far is the next destination? How far the roads can take us?

Under the same sun.
